I'm not sure what it is about Patty that I connect so deeply with, but after following her career for close to 20 years, her songs have become the poems I gravitate to when I need to find solace. There is a brilliance to her lyrics you don't find in many songs. The layering of her words are rich with intelligence, poetry, and haunting realities.
