He could have. He had enough support from the general public... as much as McCain or Romney had. But Dr. Paul did NOT have the support of the powers that run the GOP, and had few advocates in the media. He was CONSTANTLY marginalized, by the GOP & FOX. Watch the MTV debate with Ron Paul. HE ROCKS. If the GOP wakes up (they won't) he will be their candidate in 2012.

He is in favor of Reprisal policy of the founders. The same policy that was used against piracy/privateers in colonial America & USA early years. Target specific individuals and execute them. Nation-building and protecting other nations is unconstitutional, unwise, and taxpayers need to KEEP their money for themselves, not protect foreigners.

I'm no neo-con, just a realist who understands that there's a group of sick psychos out there who will stop at NOTHING to destroy us. Suitcase nukes are the most extreme scenario, but they're no science fiction my friend. Every nuclear scientist acknowledges this. Nothing in the Patriot Act or anything else that supposdly "takes away our freedoms" has been used for ANYTHING but thwarting terror plots. No one has the "freedom" to plot to destroy this country without us being able to find out.

"Suitcase nukes" are a fallacy, a figment of a science fiction writer's mind. Another phony "controversy" promoted by the neo-cons to promote fear in the population. They WANT you to fear---it allows them to take away our freedoms because the generally dumb public (GDP)wants to be safe at any cost.

You got to understand we run an Empire. We got troops in 180 countries+, all over the world! I understand you conserned about Iraq, it is the troops on the news, but why are our troops in south corea?, honestly, bringing troops home is a good idea. I am not saying Iraq first, but christ sake Germany etc, why not? save this money and spend them on borders or whatever, I do not care, just bring the troops home and finish this Empire and lets take care of America. well thats my opinion.
