True, but many pros fall for the same thing, so not everyone who calls/raises is an idiot. There's a good reason why they're called "cold decks".

mestre should have come over the top

except he has already put most of the chips in when he calls the all-in. Pot committed anyone?
The right play is to call with AJ at the end. But could anyone frankly have done that?

huh thats a pretty tough cooler for the guy with AJ.

AA makes SENSE.
When I play live poker, tourn and cash, I constantly hear people say 'You can't fold a full house/flush there' blah blah. That's total BS. You need to get rid of that dumb way of thinking. The river showdown is not about what hand you have. It is about the relative hand strength. There will frequently be times were you have an amazing hand and the other guy has a superamazing hand. These are the ones that will cost you your bankroll/tourneys, etc, that you need to escape from.

in position, and go on to submit a big bet or call a big reraise on the river. These people are far from stupid. If he had AK, 99, KK, QQ, TT, AQ, do you think he is dumb enough (like a lot of online players are), not to imagine that he is slowplaying a Jack, at least? You have an Ace in your hand, with the two Jacks. What the hell else could your opponent have? Look at the tells (plays ultraweak). Doesn't even bet the turn.
I refuse to accept that there is no way you can fold AJ here.
meredithmeredith99 (April 19, 2008 at 5:01 pm)
I don't think that is the case, to be honest. Firstly, there are many players who flat call a reraise preflop against one player, when they have AA. It is a good move. A rereraise often is AAKK. So I give myself the possibility in my head that my opponent has AA.
Then the flop comes. I check with Jacks full, and my opponent checks. There are actually very few hands that check here,

LOL you are dumb . Afraid of KcQc that is so stupid. If you don`t get all your chips in there, you will end up as a losing player over time, one really important aspect in poker is maximizing your the value of your hand. If you think your opponent may have KcQc in that spot. You will eventually end up losing over time.

If you fold in that spot, you are the biggest fish in history.
