wow, your metaphors...man,you're a profound guy,i tell ya. anyway,i wasnt bashing jimi to this guy in order to promote what i consider to be modern prog(your term). i recommended allan holdsworth because we were bickering(and allan's style is FULL of heart and creativity).YOU CANNOT have an idea of the context of the debate or my motivations for some of my comments,in short,IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU,mind your business, storkbitch, hahaha, nice name
lunarsiege (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
have you heard of pali gap! i call it pali crap.i've heard it all
lunarsiege (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
theres no irony concerning 'modern prog fans' as you put it,im ONE GUY who used the word 'prog' to give that dummy 'murf69' a base idea of what i meant.I listen to so many different types of music, all genres of music contain what i classify as 'prog'. the only music i like that comes close to your description(random chords..blahyah)is jazz/fusion(like allan holdsworth)which isnt the prog i was talkin about(i was talkin about progrock)Example:hum,u2,junius,tool.all were influenced by zep/floyd

God, the irony... Modern prog fans thinking that Hendrix was "flare and hype". And comparing Zeppelin to prog in the first place. Sigh. I got news for you, pal: an assload of random chords and tempo changes in rapid succession does not equal complexity or subtlety. What good is a frontal lobe without a heart? You're the musical equivalent of a mindless glutton.

First, Crash Landing was releases more than 4 years after hendrix died, and was produced by alan douglas so not realllllllllllllly a true representation of hendrix. and your last comment? LOL anyone here can see that im not the immature trouble maker picking fights. I win. You have done a good enough job your self look like an idiot. dont comment me back!
lunarsiege (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
btw, i didnt just go look it up to counter your stupid reply,by the time i was 9 i had, electricladyland, are u exp?,several greatest hits compilations, radio 1,some 4tape set that supposedly had all his stuff on it,along with a jimi poster on my wall and a strat(squire teeheehee)with a mini-marshall stack.also,i liked st ray vaughn better(and dont comment on hendrix being his idol its not important here) modern prog owes nothing to jimi, modern crappy blues does though(like johnny lang's crap)
lunarsiege (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
let me name some songs that suck, purple haze, hey joe, crosstown traffic, fire, red house,The WHOLE album 'crash landing' sucked ass(and dont go into that bullshit about it not being completed and shit, unless you've never heard of it,idiot),stone free, burning of midnight lamp, killin floor, machine gun,etc... i could go on forever. you need to check out allan holdsworth or pat metheny and drop that dumbed-down, filler-ass crap.btw, some of us prog guys were influenced by floyd and zep not the dope head
murf69 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
What ever, i personaly think you are just pulling things out of your arse. If you dont like hendrix, then thats your opinion. But to call him all hype and "95% filler" is ridiculous, you are saying that as if its a fact and its CLEARLY your warped opinion. Rattaling off a few songs that span his a large portion of his career just makes me think you're ignorant of the larger body of his work. Have you even heard Pali Gap? Idiot.
lunarsiege (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
no(i swear to you) my dad raised me on hendrix(he was a musician).i like 'castles made of sand' 'little wing' 'voodoo child' 'watchtower' 'train station'. so,b4 you assume im basing my opinions on his popular stuff, hit the brakes. these songs were all good material.but thats where it ended for me.maybe he just got too involved with the drugs or started believing his own hype but he fell hard in my opinion. also, there would be no prog if not for zeppelin, not hendrix...in my opinion
murf69 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
thats hardcore man! really cut me deep bahahaha (short for murphy deadshit) and without hendrix there would be no prog... anyone can see your just basing your opinions off commercial hendrix like "wild thing" etc etc, listen to the entire woodstock set or pali gap and tell me hes 95% "filler"
