Pesci wasn't really mild-mannered in Raging Bull. He had his moments too like when he beats the shit out of Frank Vincent. Deniro just happened to be a lot tougher and was a professional fighter lol.

Actually Roberts character in Goodfellas is 100% irish. Jimmy Conway (real name James Burke) was of protestant irish heritage. He just grew up with the italians. You are right about Sam Rothstein (Frank Rosenthal) though, he is 100% jewish. Henry Hill was half italian/half irish.
